Applying for a Research Grant with 红莲社区 Faculty and Staff

External industry and community partners who are interested in a collaborative research project with Generator at 红莲社区 may submit an , or contact the Generator Support Office (formerly 红莲社区 Research Office) directly.

The Generator Support Office will work with external partners to assess potential research projects, connect with prospective 红莲社区 faculty/staff collaborators, and identify suitable funding mechanisms, including external grants or sponsored research contracts. If an external grant program is identified, the Office will support the 红莲社区 researcher, in collaboration with the external partner, to develop and submit a funding application.

Grant Opportunities for Collaborative Research Projects

: These grants support the research and innovation needs of 红莲社区’s communities related to 'accelerating community health and well-being.' Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for projects of up to 12 months, with up to $30,000 in NSERC funding. Partners are expected to provide matching funds of 20% cash (for for-profit/industry partners) or 10% cash (for not-for-profit/community partners) and in-kind contributions.

Partnership Development Grants

Connection Grants

Support events and outreach activities geared toward short-term, targeted knowledge mobilization and exchange. This may include intersectoral exchanges between academic researchers in the social sciences and humanities and researchers and practitioners from the public, private and/or not-for-profit sectors.

Events: $7,000 to $25,000
Outreach activities: $7,000 to $50,000 over one year.
Partner Contribution: at least 50% of the grant amount must come from sponsoring organizations
